What We Do

Transmission

Our extensive database of English- and French-language newsrooms allows us to group radio stations by city, region or province and to localize stories where appropriate.

We send stations at least four versions of each story. A news release, written in radio style, provides the story in full, while shorter stories are written around our audio clips. The scripts are transmitted to newsrooms via email and fax as well as on The Canadian Press (formerly BN) wire service. Our clips are transmitted via satellite and the internet. And stations have the option of clicking a link on our emails that takes them directly to our download page for fast and easy access to the scripts and audio clips. We also alert talk show producers to story ideas and potential interview subjects.

Monitoring

Confirming pickup of our stories is an important part of our service.

On release day, we listen to as many stations as we can as well as over the internet. We also phone newsrooms directly to confirm pickup. We then prepare a comprehensive report detailing which stations used the story.
