Alec Stewart personally oversees each project. Alec has many years of radio news experience, and has won the national Charlie Edwards award, presented by the Radio and Television News Directors Association of Canada (RTNDA). He worked as a reporter and producer at several stations, including CHML Hamilton, CJBK London and the former CHIC Brampton. He was the main desk editor at the national news agency Broadcast News (The Canadian Press) in the 1980s. He instigated and wrote most of the first edition of the BN Style Guide, which is used in newsrooms, colleges, universities and corporate communications departments across Canada.
More recently, Alec has also made his mark in audio production, winning numerous international awards. He has produced dozens of high-end radio Public Service Announcements for various organizations, including the RTNDA, as well as for national safety groups, and served as a jurist for the 2010 RTNDA television awards (videography).
Joanna Tsipuras is a news writer and editor with 16 years’ experience on the national scene. Joanna worked at CBC-TV’s The National for nine years as an assignment editor, producer and writer/editor. She was one of a select team that wrote for Peter Mansbridge, and she worked directly with regional and national correspondents in the development of their stories. Her work in the newsroom caught the eye of the CBC’s training department, which hired her to run news-writing workshops for CBC staff across the country.
Before that, Joanna worked at Broadcast News, writing national news summaries for radio and TV, as well as developing stories for Ontario radio stations.
Jeff Roach (APR) is an associate of Radio News Service, with many years in the world of corporate communications. Prior to forming Jeff Roach and Associates in 1993, he served as Senior Vice-President of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs at CIBC and Director and Assistant Vice-President of Corporate Communications at Northern Telecom. Jeff has been Co-ordinator of Seneca College’s post-graduate Corporate Communications Program since 2006.
Adam Cree is a recording engineer who has been with us for over 10 years. Adam has overseen the technical side of our operation. He has kept our database up to date and kept in contact with radio stations.
